HSW Systems and Reporting Manager

  • Position Purpose

To develop and maintain the HSW standards and procedures, and the processes that support them, so they are technically sound and genuinely usable by the people who must follow them. This is the central “build” role — authoring and continuously improving the content of the safety system.

  • Position Summary

  • HSW Management Systems: Lead the development, administration and continual improvement of the HSW Management System, ensuring policies, standards, procedures and associated documentation remain current, effective and aligned with business, legal and certification requirements.

  • HSW Data and Reporting: Manage HSW performance data, KPI reporting, dashboards and analytics, ensuring accurate, timely and meaningful information is available to support operational and strategic decision-making.

  • Data Governance and Assurance: Maintain the quality, integrity and governance of HSW data, ensuring consistent reporting standards, robust system controls and reliable performance information across the organisation.

  • Assurance and Compliance Support: Coordinate HSW audits, inspections, assurance reviews and management system assessments, tracking findings and corrective actions through to effective closure.

  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Analyse HSW performance trends, incident data, assurance findings and leading indicators to identify emerging risks, improvement opportunities and areas requiring management attention.

  • Governance and Certification Management: Support management reviews, external certification audits, regulatory inspections and governance reporting processes, maintaining evidence of compliance and management system effectiveness.

  • Technology and Digital Innovation: Drive the adoption of digital tools, automation and reporting technologies to improve HSW system performance, user experience, reporting efficiency and organisational insight.

  • Continuous Improvement and Business Support: Provide management system and reporting support to projects and business functions, promoting continual improvement, operational excellence and effective implementation of HSW requirements across the organisation.

  • Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Risk Management, Business Management, or related discipline.

  • Professional Membership of IOSH (Cert IOSH) or equivalent internationally recognised professional status.

  • NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent advanced HSE qualification.

  • Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.

  • Formal training in incident investigation methodologies.

  • Training in risk management and assurance frameworks.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data reporting tools.

  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).

  • Significant background in managing and improving HSW management systems, reporting processes and digital platforms within a large, complex or multi-site organisation.

  • Proven capability in developing HSW dashboards, performance reports and data visualisations using Microsoft Excel, Power BI or equivalent business intelligence tools.

  • Strong track record of collecting, validating and analysing HSW data to identify trends, monitor performance and provide accurate insights for senior management.

  • Practical involvement in implementing, administering and enhancing incident management, audit, inspection, action-tracking and compliance reporting systems.

  • Sound application of ISO 45001 and integrated management system requirements, including document control, system auditing and continual improvement activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with operational teams, technical specialists and system providers to define requirements, resolve data-quality issues and deliver effective system improvements.

  • Advanced data analysis, reporting and dashboard development skills, with the ability to transform complex HSW data into meaningful insights and performance intelligence.

  • Strong knowledge of HSW management systems, ISO 45001 requirements, governance processes and performance measurement frameworks.
