MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Provide HSE verification and validation support across company operations, projects, and worksites.
• Verify that HSE requirements, standards, procedures, and controls are properly implemented.
• Conduct field-based HSE verification activities, inspections, audits, and assessments.
• Validate the effectiveness of risk controls and HSE management processes.
• Identify gaps, non-conformities, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.
• Coach personnel and contractors on HSE expectations, safe work practices, and control requirements.
• Review risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Permit to Work (PTW), and other HSE documentation.
• Monitor compliance with company HSE standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support verification of critical controls for high-risk activities.
• Participate in incident and near-miss investigations and verify implementation of corrective actions.
• Track HSE findings and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively closed.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to operations and HSE leadership.
• Promote continuous improvement in HSE performance and workforce safety culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute HSE verification and validation plans.

• Conduct field assurance visits, compliance checks, and behavioral observations.

• Verify implementation of barrier management and critical risk controls.

• Assess contractor HSE performance and verify compliance with contractual HSE requirements.

• Review inspection and audit findings for recurring trends and systemic gaps.

• Coach supervisors and frontline personnel on effective HSE control implementation.

• Maintain accurate verification records and prepare HSE performance reports.

• Follow up outstanding findings and confirm evidence-based close-out.

• Support management reviews and HSE improvement initiatives.

• QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.

• Relevant HSE qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is advantageous.

• Relevant experience in oil & gas operations, projects, construction, drilling, offshore, or industrial environments.

• Experience in HSE auditing, assurance, verification, inspections, and risk management.

• Good understanding of HSE Management Systems, PTW, JSA/JHA, SIMOPS, incident investigation, and critical risk controls.

• Strong coaching, communication, facilitation, and reporting skills.

• Ability to work with operations teams, contractors, and multidisciplinary personnel.

• Strong knowledge of applicable company standards and regulatory HSE requirements.
