We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: HSE Officer

Location: Ogun

Job Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures and site safety rules.
• Conduct inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work, safe work procedures and PPE requirements.
• Lead toolbox meetings, safety briefings and awareness sessions.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; prepare reports and recommendations.
• Monitor contractors’ HSE compliance.
• Support emergency preparedness and drills.
• Maintain HSE records and documentation.
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage housekeeping, waste and environmental practices.
• Work with other departments to promote safe operations.
• Assist with HSE audits and regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous HSE improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ relevant HSE experience, preferably in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, construction or other industrial settings.
• A recognised HSE qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent.
• Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation and workplace safety procedures.
• Good knowledge of PPE, emergency response and safe work practices.
• Strong reporting, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a plant/site environment and engage with employees, contractors and operational teams.

Added Advantage:

• Experience in mining, mineral processing, quarrying, chemical processing or other heavy industrial environments.
• Additional certifications in First Aid/CPR, Fire Safety, ISO 45001 or environmental management.
