Job title: HSE Manager
About the Role The HSE Manager implements and monitors the MAIRE group HSE Policy and Management System at the site, reporting to the Site Manager. He/she ensures compliance with HSE standards, conducts inspections and audits, organizes training, investigates accidents, and maintains records. The role involves preparing HSE reports and updating site statistics, proposing recovery plans as needed.
What You'll Do
- Support and monitor the implementation of the MAIRE group HSE Policy and HSE Management System at site.
- Perform the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Verify the adequacy and application of the Site HSE Plan and all related procedures, preparing any revisions.
- Update the HSE documentation during all the construction phases when deemed necessary.
- Check that Subcontractors perform their activities in accordance with all the HSE applicable procedures, regulation and standards, promoting all necessary action to ensure that the said procedures and regulations are observed.
- Organize, plan, and participate in periodical HSE walkarounds, inspections, and audits on site, prepare all the relevant reports, action plans, verify the follow-up, and the timely execution of the corrective actions.
- Organize and coordinate the HSE Training activities on site.
- Organize and participate in all relevant site HSE Meetings.
- Cooperate with the Client concerning the issuing of any necessary work permits.
- Organize a full investigation of work accidents, finalized to the identification of corrective measures to avoid reoccurrence.
- Keep accident records, identifying the areas to which prevention must be addressed.
- Promote indoctrination/training of personnel.
- Lead and coordinate the Site HSE Committee (composed of all Contractor and Subcontractors HSE Representatives).
- Lead and coordinate the site emergency response team and fire prevention/fighting team, organizing training and emergency drill mock activities.
- Prepare the HSE section of the construction monthly progress report and other periodical reports.
- Prepare and update the Site HSE Statistics, verify the performance versus the Project and corporate HSE Objective, Targets and performance indicators; propose recovery plan in case of mismatch.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of HSE policies, management systems, and regulatory standards applicable to construction sites.
- Ability to perform JHA/JSA, conduct inspections and audits, and investigate accidents.
- Experience organizing HSE training, site HSE meetings, and ensuring subcontractor HSE compliance.
- Ability to lead and coordinate the Site HSE Committee and emergency response teams.
- Strong reporting, statistics, and KPI tracking capabilities, with the ability to propose corrective actions.
- Good communication and collaboration skills with clients, including coordination for work permits.
- Willingness to work onsite on construction projects and to drive HSE performance across the site.
