Job Description

In this important and visible role, you will engage with Departments, Areas and the HR Operations team to ensure that the delivery of HR Operation's systems, tools and services are continually improving to exceed customer expectations and contribute to the Human Resources strategy and mission the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As an improvement oriented HR professional your focus will be to understand customer needs and collaborate with HR Operations experts to provide optimal solutions and a proactive strategy to best deliver the essential work of HR.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for building lasting working relationships to ensure professional and productive interactions
  • Lead customer engagement and change readiness activities, including business requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and adoption support for new HR capabilities and process improvements.
  • Partner with division leadership to track strategic priorities, monitor execution progress, assess customer outcomes, and recommend improvements to service delivery and organizational effectiveness.
  • Drive HCM adoption and optimization initiatives by promoting standard processes, eliminating local workarounds, measuring adoption and utilization, and reporting results to leadership.
  • Ensure transparency for our customers through timely reporting, availability and setting clear expectations
  • Ability to walk the fine line of customer advocate and an HR Operations expert
  • Provide optimal HR subject matter expertise to understand and represent the field HR experience
  • Influence key HR business initiatives through successful collaboration with peers, leaders, and cross-department HR representatives
  • Support cross functional projects and working groups that require the gathering and synthesis of data to discover and report on opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate on the appropriate channel strategy to deliver HR processes, support and knowledge (HR Operations channels include: Manager and Employee Self Service as part of an evolving HCM solution, Tier 1 and Tier 2 Shared Services, Tier 3 Experts and the Service Missionary Office)
  • Manage and execute strategic and operational initiatives or projects that align customer requirements with HR department priorities.
  • Deliver training and instruction on key business processes and supporting products.
  • Ensure that HR business processes meet team and HR department needs.
  • Establish guidelines for process and supporting product troubleshooting, problem identification and solution recommendations; conduct analysis for resolution as needs arise; make recommendations to management on process changes, and product enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • At least seven years of experience with HR business operations or related professional experience.

  • At least four years of experience managing executing or managing key business processes including working with a human capital management (HCM) system.

  • Strong ability to bring alignment to both the strategic and essential elements of HR

  • Ability to synthesize data and to provide clear, concise, and complete answers to questions.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience using HCM system(s)

  • Ability to to train and tutor individuals, small and large groups

  • Demonstrate focus, discipline, responsibility, with an orientation toward consistent high performance.

  • Experience with abstract concept reasoning, problem solving, statistical compilation, and presentation skills.

  • Project management and roadmap planning proficiency.

  • To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there will be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
