HR Generalist

Robert Half – HR Generalist (Queens, NY)

Rapidly expanding New York City organization is currently seeking an HR Generalist to support day-to-day people operations for a service-focused organization in New York. This role will oversee core HR administration, help create a smooth employee experience from onboarding through benefits enrollment, and contribute to recruiting and employee support activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the full onboarding process for new team members, ensuring required documents are completed accurately and employees are set up for a successful start.

• Administer employment verification activities, including E-Verify processing, while maintaining compliance with applicable employment regulations.

• Manage wage garnishment documentation and updates, working carefully to ensure timely and accurate recordkeeping.

• Oversee employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and ongoing maintenance of benefit records.

• Support recruitment efforts by assisting with candidate coordination, communication, and other recruitment-related activities as needed.

• Maintain HR data across internal systems and help improve the accuracy and consistency of employee records.

• Identify opportunities to reduce manual administrative work and support process improvements within HR operations.

• Assist with employee relations matters by responding to routine HR questions and escalating issues when appropriate.

• 2+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar HR support role.

• Practical knowledge of onboarding, HR administration, and employee documentation processes.

• Experience administering employee benefits and maintaining related records with a high level of accuracy.

• Familiarity with HR information systems and comfort working across multiple platforms.

• Understanding of employee relations practices and the ability to handle sensitive information professionally.

• Experience supporting recruiting activities is preferred.
