Position Summary
The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors while ensuring that linens, clothing, and other laundry items are properly cleaned and handled.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces as needed.
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and resident clothing.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and follow proper washing procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in housekeeping and laundry areas.
- Follow infection control, sanitation, and safety guidelines.
- Handle cleaning supplies and chemicals according to facility procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards.
- Respect resident privacy, dignity, and personal belongings.
- Assist the housekeeping and laundry team with daily tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred.
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures and infection control guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required for the position.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
