Housekeeping Attendant

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, and other assigned areas according to hotel standards.
- Perform daily room cleaning, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Replenish guest room amenities, toiletries, linen, towels, and other supplies.
- Ensure guest rooms are properly arranged and presented according to established hotel standards.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, mirrors, floors, and other surfaces.
- Report any maintenance defects, damages, missing items, or unusual conditions in guest rooms to the Supervisor.
- Handle guest belongings with care and immediately report any lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Collect and replace soiled linen and towels following proper handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping trolleys, cupboards, equipment, and storage areas.
- Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools safely and according to manufacturer instructions and hotel SOPs.
- Follow all health, safety, hygiene, and chemical-handling procedures.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests related to housekeeping services.
- Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor and other departments to ensure smooth guest service.
- Support room inspections and complete any corrective cleaning or maintenance requirements.
- Assist with deep cleaning, spring cleaning, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and other periodic housekeeping tasks.
- Maintain appropriate standards of personal grooming, hygiene, and professional appearance.
- Respect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Follow hotel policies, housekeeping SOPs, fire safety procedures, and security standards.
- Assist with cleaning and preparation of rooms during high-occupancy periods when required.
- Attend departmental briefings, training sessions, and meetings as required.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of guest room cleaning and housekeeping procedures.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safe handling practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-service oriented with a positive and professional attitude.
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform cleaning duties for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
