Housekeeper

About the Role The Housekeeper at Taylor University is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned facilities across campus. This role emphasizes attention to safety and meeting the university’s high standards of cleanliness, while supporting a welcoming environment in classrooms, offices, dining areas, and common spaces.

What You'll Do

• Perform general housekeeping duties including mopping, vacuuming, trash disposal, and restocking supplies in restrooms, lobbies, offices, classrooms, dining areas, and auditoriums.
• Clean assigned facilities and adapt to seasonal or project-based tasks; ensure spaces remain clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Collaborate with team members and departments across campus to address cleaning needs and seasonal priorities; interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Follow safety procedures and institutional policies; uphold Taylor University’s mission, Statement of Faith, Life Together Covenant, and Foundational Documents in daily practice.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required; housekeeping or related experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, including safety procedures.
• Proficient with basic cleaning equipment; flexible to changing priorities; strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team on routine and project-based assignments.
• Physical demands: heavy lifting up to 30 pounds; ability to navigate stairs; weekend overtime and special events may be required.

Nice to Have

• Housekeeping or related experience preferred.
