About the Role Story County Medical Center is seeking a Housekeeper within Environmental Services in Nevada, IA. This PRN/temporary position focuses on maintaining clean and safe patient care areas and supporting facility operations. What You'll Do
- Clean and disinfect patient care areas as assigned to meet the needs of the organization, including public restrooms, administrative areas, kitchen, cafeteria, meeting rooms, etc.
- Follow outlined guidelines on the use and storage of all cleaning solutions and other hazardous chemicals to ensure proper safety precautions are being followed.
- Collect, sort, wash, dry and fold linens. Collect dirty linens and distribute clean linens to designated areas of Story Medical. Appropriately handle clean linen to ensure compliance with state and federal standards, and Story Medical policies
- Clean windows, furniture, air diffusers and grilles, doors and entrances
- Remove general and potentially infectious medical waste and transport it to a general holding and/or disposal area.
- Maintain effective communication with Facilities department staff and all other Story Medical departments.
- Participate in huddles and staff meetings and attend other meetings and events as they relate to the Facilities Department functions.
- Assist in the distribution of linens. What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to maintain a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors.
- Ability to understand oral and written communications.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
- Related work in healthcare (Preferred) Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $15-$23/hour
