Housekeeper

Location: Abule-Egba, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented and hardworking Housekeeper to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across guest rooms and assigned hotel areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and preparing rooms, changing linen and replenishing amenities, handling housekeeping supplies appropriately and ensuring guest areas are consistently clean, comfortable and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned areas.

• Make beds and replace used linen, towels, and other room supplies.

• Replenish guest amenities and ensure rooms are properly stocked.

• Clean and maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies.

• Handle laundry, linen, and cleaning materials appropriately.

• Report maintenance issues, damages, lost property, or unusual incidents promptly.

• Follow established cleaning schedules and hotel housekeeping standards.

• Ensure proper storage and safe use of cleaning chemicals.

• Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality while working in occupied rooms.

• Support the cleaning and maintenance of common areas when required.

• Follow all health, safety, hygiene, and infection-prevention procedures.

• Performance Expectations

• Maintain guest rooms and assigned areas to established cleanliness standards.

• Complete cleaning and room preparation within required timelines.

• Ensure rooms are properly stocked with required amenities.

• Handle linen, towels, and cleaning supplies responsibly.

• Promptly report damaged items, maintenance issues, or lost property.

• Follow all hygiene, safety, and hotel cleaning procedures.

• Maintain guest privacy and professional conduct at all times.

• Minimise complaints relating to cleanliness and room presentation.

• Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or equivalent qualification.

• Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, cleaning services, or a similar role is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, laundry, and housekeeping practices.

• Knowledge of proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals is an advantage.

• Good attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.

• Physically fit and able to perform routine housekeeping duties.

• Must be reliable, discreet, and respectful of guest privacy.

• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays when required
