Job Title: House Parent

Reports To: Boarding Coordinator

Job Summary

The House Parent will provide pastoral support and supervision to boarding students while helping to maintain a safe, structured, respectful and nurturing residential environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Boarding and Pastoral teams to ensure that students' welfare, safety, behaviour and daily routines are appropriately managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day pastoral care and support to boarding students.
• Supervise morning, evening, study, recreation and bedtime routines.
• Monitor student welfare, behaviour and general wellbeing.
• Maintain appropriate supervision and accountability of students.
• Promote positive behaviour and enforce boarding expectations consistently and fairly.
• Identify and report safeguarding, welfare, health or behavioural concerns promptly.
• Maintain professional boundaries in all interactions with students.
• Monitor boarding house cleanliness, organisation and general standards.
• Support students in developing independence, responsibility and good personal habits.
• Maintain accurate records relating to attendance, incidents and student welfare.
• Prepare appropriate handover notes and reports.
• Work collaboratively with school leadership, pastoral staff and other relevant departments.
• Participate in boarding duties, including evenings, weekends and overnight duties as required.
• Perform other reasonable duties related to the effective running of the boarding house.

Requirements

Education

• Minimum of an NCE, Diploma, Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• 3 years Previous experience working with children or adolescents is required.

• Experience in a school, boarding school, residential care, youth programme or similar setting is an advantage.
