About the Role
- We are seeking a results-driven Hotel Business Development Manager to drive business growth, increase occupancy, develop new revenue opportunities and build strong commercial relationships for the property.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively generating business rather than relying solely on walk-in and online bookings.
- The ideal candidate should have strong experience in hotel sales, corporate accounts, partnerships, business development and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
- Develop and execute strategies to generate new business.
- Identify and pursue new corporate and institutional clients.
- Build relationships with companies, NGOs, government-related organizations, travel agencies, relocation companies and other potential clients.
- Develop partnerships that generate consistent room bookings and other revenue opportunities.
- Maintain an active business development pipeline.
Corporate Sales:
- Identify companies and organizations with accommodation requirements.
- Make sales calls, conduct presentations and arrange client meetings.
- Develop corporate accommodation agreements.
- Maintain relationships with existing corporate clients.
- Generate repeat and referral business.
Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Develop initiatives to increase room occupancy and revenue.
- Identify opportunities to increase direct bookings.
- Promote rooms, meeting spaces, events and other available revenue streams.
- Work closely with the Hotel Manager to align sales activities with pricing and availability.
- Track sales performance against targets.
Market Development:
- Research competitors, market trends, customer segments and pricing.
- Identify underserved customer segments and new business opportunities.
- Develop strategies to position the property effectively within its target market.
Digital & Online Sales:
- Work with the marketing team to improve online visibility and lead generation.
- Monitor OTA performance and booking trends.
- Support direct booking campaigns.
- Follow up on online and offline enquiries and convert opportunities into bookings.
Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain an updated database of corporate and business clients.
- Conduct regular client follow-ups.
- Gather client feedback and identify opportunities for improved service.
- Ensure strong relationships that encourage repeat bookings.
Sales Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of prospects, leads, meetings and conversions.

Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree/HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Minimum 4–7 years' experience in hotel sales, business development, hospitality marketing or a related commercial role.
- Proven experience generating business for a hotel, serviced apartment, shortlet or similar hospitality business.
- Strong knowledge of the Abuja corporate and hospitality market is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to develop corporate accounts and partnerships.
- Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
- Commercially minded and target-driven.
- Strong networking and relationship-building ability.
- Good knowledge of digital and online booking channels.
- Ability to work independently and deliver measurable sales results.
