About the Role The Hospital Lab Technician 1 will support the Dermatopathology and Oral Pathology histology service in UCSF's Pathology Department. Under the direct supervision of the Histology Supervisor, the role provides technical and clerical support to the histology laboratory. The position emphasizes handling specimen accessioning and navigating the department's information systems to retrieve patient demographics, clinical and gross descriptions.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical and clerical support to the histology laboratory under the direct supervision of the Dermatopathology and Oral Pathology Service Histology Supervisor.
- Assist with receiving specimens for accessioning and use the department's information systems to retrieve patient demographics, clinical and gross descriptions.
- Complete laboratory administrative duties to support histology operations.
What We're Looking For
- Familiarity with lab department administrative processes, including receiving specimens for accessioning.
- Ability to navigate the department's information systems to retrieve patient demographics, clinical and gross descriptions.
- Willingness to perform administrative duties in a histology lab under supervision.
