Job title: Home Health Agency Receptionist
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Receptionist with a medical office background to join Shalem Home Healthcare agency. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers while managing front-desk administration and record management. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a compassionate professional demeanor, and a solid understanding of medical office workflows.
What You'll Do
- Greet visiting clinicians, patient families, and guests warmly and professionally.
- Manage a multi-line phone system, route calls, and take detailed messages.
- Triage urgent calls and route to appropriate clinical supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming front desk and lobby.
- Establish, maintain, and file electronic and physical patient records; archive historical records per retention schedules.
- Audit charts, retrieve specific files for audits/clinical review.
- Process new patient referrals and input demographic data into the agency database.
- Verify health insurance eligibility (Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans).
- Monitor tracking logs to ensure orders and plans of care are signed and returned.
- Perform clerical duties (scanning orders, faxing, sorting mail).
- Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical office, clinic, or home health setting.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle high-volume data.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication with a compassionate phone demeanor.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; comfortable learning new systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual: English and Spanish.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $18.00 per hour.
