About the Role The Histology Technician will perform a variety of histology laboratory functions to support accurate tissue processing and diagnostic services. This role requires proficiency in embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, and slide distribution, while adhering to QA/QC standards and regulatory expectations. What You'll Do
- Perform histology laboratory procedures with a high degree of proficiency and efficiency, meeting departmental productivity standards.
- Operate laboratory equipment, interfaces and instruments; perform and document basic and advanced maintenance and calibration; serve as Key Operator for assigned instrument(s) as needed.
- Perform routine logging for Quality Control (QC)/Quality Assurance (QA) purposes; collect and compile QA data; monitor QC for trends and take corrective action as needed. Participate in QC/QA tracking.
- Follow through on problems; develop appropriate solutions using defined guidelines.
- Coordinate, compile and prepare QA data and perform audits as necessary.
- Review and prepare monthly QC reports.
- Assist with the development of procedure documents and job aids as needed.
- Perform all troubleshooting procedures; identify problems and develop appropriate solutions using defined guidelines.
- Under general supervision, perform research and development tasks to include research and validation testing.
- Actively participate in preparation for regulatory inspections, taking responsibility for section and/or department as assigned.
- Participate in training new employees and students where appropriate; provide instruction and information regarding protocols and theory as appropriate.
- Track progress of trainees; assess trainee competency in specified areas. What We're Looking For
- MINIMUM EDUCATION - High School diploma or equivalent plus 60 hours of college which include 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry in any combination.
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE - Nine (9) months of direct Histology experience (independent embedding, microtomy) OR completion of TriCore's Histology Apprentice Program; qualified for enrollment in an accredited NAACLS histology training program. Requirements include High School diploma or equivalent and successful completion college level courses in biology, chemistry and math.
- PREFERENCES - Relevant ASCP or equivalent certification. Nice to Have

- Sign-on bonus: $5,000.00.
