Job title: Histology Technician
Endeavor Health is seeking a Histology Technician for full-time and PRN roles across our system to process and prepare tissue samples for pathology analysis at locations including NCH in Arlington Heights and Swedish Hospital in Chicago.
What You'll Do
- Process tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
- Embed tissues manually and automatically using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
- Perform microtomy of paraffin-embedded tissue blocks (manual and auto embedded)
- Perform recuts of tissue blocks
- Perform special stains
- Conduct immunofluorescence (IF) cryotomy of skin specimens
What We're Looking For
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or completed accredited Histology Technology program
- Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible
- Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred
- Unique or Preferred Skills: Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $28.47 - $42.71 per hour (USD)
