About the Role Histology Technician at Eisenhower Health prepares and stains tissue sections from surgical and cytological material for microscopic interpretation by the pathologist. Supports the Histology department in processing specimens, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control. What You'll Do
- Process surgical specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Embed, section, and stain tissue for microscopic interpretation by the pathologist.
- Perform frozen sections and staining as needed.
- Utilize Laboratory Information Systems as appropriate.
- Disinfect and maintain work areas and instrumentation; perform preventative maintenance.
- Comply with hospital and Laboratory safety policies and procedures.
- Perform general duties in grossing area as needed.
- Perform quality control and maintain records.
- Assist in ordering, maintaining, and restocking of supplies.
