About the Role Schreiner University seeks a part-time Audio Visual Assistant for the Hill Country Chapter, Texas Master Naturalists to support hybrid Chapter meetings by assisting the AV Team Lead with Zoom and AV equipment. The role involves on-site setup and takedown, staffing the Zoom chat during meetings, and potential troubleshooting. There is also an opportunity to train the AV Team Lead on correct protocols and to assist with AV at Chapter training classes starting in March.
What You'll Do
- Attend monthly Chapter meetings (typically the fourth Monday, 6:00–8:00 p.m.) to assist with Zoom and AV equipment for hybrid meetings.
- Set up and take down AV gear before and after meetings, and staff the Zoom chat during sessions.
- Troubleshoot AV, Zoom, or other IT issues as needed during meetings.
- Participate in up to four hours of training/mentoring with the AV Team Lead to learn correct protocols and practices for hybrid meetings, if required.
- Support Chapter venues that rotate between Boerne, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, and Bandera; meetings attract about 70–100 attendees (roughly split between in-person and online).
- Collaborate on AV support for Chapter training classes beginning in March (approximately 4 hours each Thursday evening).
What We're Looking For
- Interest in wildlife biology or related fields.
- Availability for monthly evening meetings (typically the fourth Monday, 6:00–8:00 p.m.) and potential Thursday training sessions.
- Willingness to learn and follow AV protocols; ability to set up/takedown AV gear; basic troubleshooting of Zoom/IT issues.
- Comfort working in multiple venues (Boerne, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Bandera) and engaging with both in-person and online attendees.
