About the Role Under the supervision of the Project Engineer or Field Services Foreperson, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining contracted assets (roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, end treatments, tunnels, vegetation, etc.) per standards and conditions specified in the contract. The position supports field maintenance activities across highway and right-of-way assets. The pay range for this position is $25-$27 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. What You'll Do
- Maintain and repair highway and other surfaces including signs, guardrails, fences, potholes, reflectors, and shouldering
- Operate vehicles and equipment as required for surface and right-of-way maintenance and repair; repair/maintenance of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc.; control vegetation growth
- Removal of snow and ice using snow removal and/or sanding equipment
- Traffic control setup and removal
- Transport crew and equipment to work sites
- Available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- All other duties as assigned What We're Looking For
- English communication (oral and written) and ability to perform basic mathematical functions
- Ability to consistently follow all policies and procedures and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing demands
- Skilled in use of hand and power tools, traffic control devices and mobile equipment (tractors, graders, mowers, sweepers, augers, skid steers, boom trucks)
- Experience with surface and right-of-way maintenance and repair, vegetation management
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in variable weather; strong safety awareness and PPE compliance
- Valid Ontario Class DZ driver's license or higher and acceptable driving record
- Successful completion of training in traffic control methods, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS and job-related aspects of Occupational Health Nice to Have
- WHMIS, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods training and other health/safety certifications Compensation & Benefits
