About the Role Ferrovial's project in Ontario seeks a Highway Maintenance Worker to maintain contracted assets such as roadways, signs, guardrails, medians, and related infrastructure under supervision of the Project Engineer or Field Services Foreperson. The role offers hourly compensation and opportunities to work on diverse infrastructure projects across several Ontario locations. What You'll Do
- Maintain and repair highway surfaces and related assets including signs, guardrails, fences, potholes, reflectors, and shouldering
- Operate vehicles and equipment for surface and right-of-way maintenance; repair slopes, berms, culverts, drains; manage vegetation
- Remove snow and ice using snow removal and/or sanding equipment
- Set up and remove traffic control and transport crew/equipment to sites
- Be available for emergency response rotations including overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For
- Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
- Basic mathematical ability and effective numerical reasoning
- Ability to follow policies and procedures and interpret written/oral instructions
- Comfort working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Proficiency with hand and power tools and equipment used in surface and right-of-way maintenance
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum of three years related experience in construction/road maintenance (preferred)
- Certifications: Valid Ontario Class DZ (or higher) driver’s license with clean record; training in traffic control methods, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS, and job-related health and safety
- Physical/ work conditions: ability to lift up to 50 pounds; outdoor work in varied weather; exposure to noise, chemicals, and physical hazards; adherence to safety protocols Compensation & Benefits
