About this role

Job title: High Speed PCB Senior Staff Layout Designer (RF / Optics)

About the Role This is an existing vacancy on Marvell's Cloud Platform Optics team seeking a Senior Staff PCB Layout Designer to develop high-speed RF/optical PCBs for AI data center systems. You will own layout activities from inception to NPI, collaborating with hardware, SI/PI, and mechanical teams.

What You'll Do

  • Design complex multilayer PCB layouts for RF front-end circuits (GHz range) and high-speed SERDES interfaces.
  • Manage differential pairs with tight impedance control, RF transmission lines, and matching networks.
  • Collaborate with Hardware, SI/PI, Mechanical, and Packaging teams; enforce constraint-driven layout practices; ensure SI/EMI/EMC and thermal requirements are met.
  • Define stack-up, material choices for high-frequency performance; perform layout reviews and implement feedback.
  • Interface with manufacturers on DFM/DFA; generate and release fabrication deliverables and assembly documentation.
  • Contribute to full product lifecycle from conception to NPI.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of PCB layout experience, preferably RF PCB layout (GHz).
  • Deep understanding of controlled impedance routing, differential pair routing and length matching, crosstalk mitigation, return paths and grounding, shielding.
  • Experience with multilayer stack-up design (10+ layers typical).
  • Proficiency in Cadence Allegro / OrCAD PCB Designer (preferred) or Altium Designer (acceptable).
  • Strong collaboration with Hardware, SI/PI, and Mechanical teams.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with SI/PI fundamentals; knowledge of PCB materials for high-frequency design; thermal considerations in compact modules.
  • High-density interconnect (HDI) designs (microvias, blind/buried vias); co-design environments (electrical + mechanical integration).
  • Scripting and automation tools to streamline PCB layout workflows.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Expected Base Pay Range (CAD): 115,700 – 154,300 per year.
  • Competitive compensation and great benefits; collaborative and inclusive work environment.
