About the Role Join Baker Tilly as a High Net Worth Tax Principal to lead the private wealth practice and serve as the go-to tax expert for high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, family offices and their private businesses and investment entities. You will work closely with firm leadership, mentor staff, and help grow the practice while delivering comprehensive strategic income, trust, estate and gift tax planning, succession and international tax services. What You'll Do
- Lead compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational affluent families, family offices and their private businesses and/or investment entities
- Perform technical review of complex returns (individual, partnership, S-corp, trust, estate, gift, state tax)
- Lead multiple engagements delivering proactive tax planning (federal, estate, gift, charitable planning and generation-skipping tax)
- Advise on business succession planning
- Build technical competence by staying up-to-date on trends and authorities and applying them to complex situations
- Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets
- Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects and revenue
- Invest in your professional development individually and through firm-wide programs; support the growth of team members via Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy

- An undergraduate degree in accounting or law
- CPA or JD
- Experience as a leader in a public accounting firm in the Tax space
- 10+ years of tax planning and consulting for wealthy individuals, family members and their trusts, investment entities, and private businesses; strong experience in personal taxation, trust taxation, estate & gift taxation, charitable taxation, with exposure to flow-through entities, partnership taxation and corporate taxation
- Six (6)+ years supervisory experience mentoring and counseling associates
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and see the big picture as well as the details Nice to Have
