Heavy Equipment Operator - Track Dozer (Mining)

About the Role PacifiCorp (Union IBB Local S1978) seeks a safety‑minded Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate mining equipment on surface operations. The role primarily involves operating track dozers and other heavy equipment, working around draglines to build level pads and grade using GPS, including tasks such as cutting key and pulling dragline power cables. Other equipment may include scraper, grader, and rubber-tired dozer. All work is performed in compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies to meet safety, cost, productivity and environmental requirements. What You'll Do

• Safely and efficiently operate equipment—typically track dozers—according to designated criteria and site procedures.
• Work around draglines to build level pads, grade, cut key, and pull dragline power cables using GPS and related tools.
• Operate other equipment as needed (scraper, grader, rubber-tired dozer) and assist with basic maintenance.
• Inspect equipment before operation and ensure it is in safe, operable condition; report defects promptly.
• Comply with federal/state regulations and PacifiCorp policies to achieve safety, cost, productivity, and environmental goals.
• Collaborate with the Union IBB Local S1978 team and participate in safety programs as required. What We're Looking For
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to three years of surface mining experience, including work with draglines.
• One to three years of heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
• Strong safety mindset, reliability, and good communication skills.
• Willingness to work onsite at Point of Rocks, Wyoming; union membership or eligibility with IBB Local S1978 is a plus. Nice to Have
• Experience operating scraper, grader, and rubber-tired dozer.
• GPS-based grade work experience. Compensation & Benefits
• Hiring Range: $43.96/hour.
