About this role
About the Role Operates a rubber-tired skid steer or crawler-type tractor with an attached scoop bucket on construction sites to load materials from stockpiles, excavations, and batch plants, and to load/unload trucks. May use attachments in place of the bucket. What You'll Do
- Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
- Signal truck drivers to position trucks to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
- May oil, grease, or service the machine; make necessary adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Comply with all safety policies, report unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources; participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals; provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill; perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Education: Less than a High School Diploma and related construction experience.
- Working conditions: Outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.).
