Heavy-Duty Mechanic Trainer
Description
- Ganfeng Lithium Industry Limited is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic Trainer to join our mining site in Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical and theoretical training to heavy-duty mechanics.
- Train mechanics in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of heavy-duty mining and construction equipment.
- Conduct hands-on training on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, electrical systems and other equipment components.
- Train staff on preventive and scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Assess mechanics' technical knowledge and practical skills.
- Identify technical gaps and provide appropriate coaching and guidance.
- Develop and implement equipment maintenance training programs.
- Demonstrate proper use of diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Promote safe working practices and compliance with HSE requirements.
- Monitor trainees' progress and prepare training/assessment reports.
- Support the maintenance team in diagnosing recurring equipment faults and improving equipment reliability.
Requirements
- Relevant technical qualification or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy-Duty Equipment Maintenance, Diesel Mechanics or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance.
- Strong practical experience with excavators, loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, graders and other heavy-duty machinery.
- Good knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmission and electrical systems.
- Previous experience as a trainer, instructor, senior mechanic or workshop supervisor is an advantage.
- Mining, quarry, construction or other heavy-equipment industry experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to deliver effective hands-on technical training.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on a mining site in Nasarawa State.
