Job title: Healthcare Software Solutions Engineer
About the Role Light-it designs and builds healthcare software solutions for care delivery and operations, enabling patient engagement, real-time RPM data, unified data platforms, legacy modernization, and AI-enabled workflows that integrate with existing systems and handle PHI in production.
What You'll Do
- Design and build patient-facing platforms (portals, companion apps) and integrations with EHRs/clinical systems to enable patient access, communication with providers, and ongoing engagement, with secure PHI handling.
- Build end-to-end RPM systems: device/wearable integrations, real-time data ingestion and processing, alerting, clinical dashboards, and care-team workflows with escalation logic.
- Create unified data platforms: data lakes and warehouses, interoperability (FHIR, HL7), ETL pipelines, real-time processing, and analytics-ready data layers.
- Modernize legacy systems through incremental, low-risk evolution: cloud migrations (AWS, GCP, Azure), API-first architectures, and secure data migration.
- Apply AI to healthcare workflows with clear boundaries and human oversight: AI copilots, clinical decision support tools, automation of administrative tasks, and safe, explainable LLM implementations.
- Collaborate with digital health startups, provider organizations, health infrastructure providers, and pharma/medtech to deploy solutions that meet regulatory and clinical requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Experience delivering healthcare software solutions that integrate with EHRs/clinical systems and support interoperability (FHIR/HL7) with secure PHI handling.
- Experience in building data platforms (data lakes/warehouses), real-time data processing, device integrations, alerting, dashboards, and care-team workflows.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modernization approaches that reduce technical debt while preserving data integrity.
- Ability to design AI-enabled workflows with validation, transparency, governance, and human-in-the-loop oversight.
- Experience serving digital health companies, provider networks, health infrastructure providers, or pharma/medtech clients; strong collaboration and regulatory awareness.
