How can you make a difference?
You as the Health Specialist will report to the Chief Field Office for general supervision with guidance from the Chief of Health section. You will support the development and preparation of the health programme and is responsible for managing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the programme progress of a sector of the health programme (e.g. gender, maternal, neonatal, child survival/development) within the country programme. You will provide technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable results according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), organizational Strategic Plans and goals, standards of performance, and accountability framework.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Minimum requirements:
- Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in one of the following fields is required: public health/nutrition, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, sociomedical, health education, epidemiology, or another relevant technical field.

Experience
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: public health/nutrition planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, or health emergency/humanitarian preparedness.
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in programme planning, health systems strengthening, technical health expertise, data analysis, and monitoring and evaluation, with the ability to support the design, implementation, and performance monitoring of health programmes to achieve measurable results.

- Fluency in French is required.
Desirables:

Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian or Spanish) or a local language

Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.

Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Demonstrated experience in health program management, monitoring and Results-Based Management (RBM).

Relevant experience in maternal, newborn and child health, child survival and/or immunization programs.

Experience in health emergency preparedness and response, particularly in humanitarian or complex operational settings.

Proven experience in partnership building and coordination with government, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other health-sector stakeholders.

Experience in field program monitoring, addressing implementation bottlenecks and strengthening the capacities of government and implementing partners.

Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
