Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Assistant
Location: Agabra, Ogun
Purpose
- To provide operational support in implementing and promoting health, safety, and environmental programs across the site, ensuring compliance with FMN HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while fostering a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
The Job
- Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the site.
- Conduct routine HSE inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and fire risks, escalating identified issues for corrective action.
- Assist in monitoring the readiness and functionality of fire protection equipment, safety tools, and environmental compliance equipment.
- Support waste segregation, handling, and disposal activities in line with environmental and sustainability requirements.
- Monitor and promote the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and report non-compliance.
- Assist in coordinating pest control activities, maintaining records, and following up with service providers.
- Educate and remind employees on safe work practices, housekeeping standards, and compliance with site rules.
Qualification
- 5 O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English.
- Basic training in Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Safety, First Aid, or related HSE programs will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) year relevant experience.
- Experience in Health, Safety and Environment, manufacturing operations, construction, or industrial environments will be an added advantage.

- Have good observation skills and the ability to identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be confident in engaging employees and promoting safe work behaviors.
