Job title: Health Economics & Outcomes Research Associate Director, Pain
About the Role The Health Economics & Outcomes Research Associate Director will participate in leading the development and execution of HEOR studies to support Vertex's products. This role reports to the Director, HEOR Pain. The position involves leading teams to generate high-quality evidence that informs product strategy and payer discussions.
What You'll Do
- Lead others to execute complex HEOR evidence generation including cost-effectiveness analyses and budget impact models, prospective and retrospective observational studies, ITCs, meta-analyses and systematic reviews.
- Contribute to the design, execution, and dissemination of HEOR studies for Vertex's Pain portfolio, including study protocols, data analyses, and publication materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, commercial, medical affairs) to translate HEOR findings into payer-ready communications and strategic recommendations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and mentoring of junior staff.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in health economics and outcomes research with a track record of leading complex studies and teams.
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in HEOR methodologies (cost-effectiveness, budget impact, ITCs, meta-analyses, systematic reviews).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence decisions with data-driven insights.
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry or academic settings; knowledge of pain area is a plus.
Nice to Have
- PhD or equivalent advanced degree in health economics, epidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, or related field.
- Expertise with statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, STATA) and modeling tools.
- Experience with payer interactions and health technology assessment submissions.
