Health Club & Recreation Manager

Nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, just two hours north of Downtown Vancouver, Fairmont Chateau Whistler defines mountain luxury. Offering ski-in, ski-out convenience in the winter, and an on-site championship golf course in the summer, we are Canada’s year-round outdoor adventure destination. Additionally, we are Whistler's largest conference resort hotel, offering 5 unique dining outlets, a slope-side Health Club, and 519 guestrooms and suites.

Health Club & Recreation Manager Fostering the health and wellbeing of our guests, visitors, and colleagues is an integral part of the Fairmont culture. As Health Club & Recreation Manager, you will lead a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional wellness and recreation experiences. Through your leadership, commitment to service excellence, and passion for healthy living, you will inspire both colleagues and guests to achieve their wellness goals.

This is a full-time, permanent position, starting November 2026.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications

Job

Duties

  • Include:
  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Health Club and Recreation team, ensuring exceptional guest and member experiences.
  • Drive membership growth, retention, and revenue targets.
  • Oversee fitness programming, recreation activities, special events, and wellness partnerships.
  • Manage departmental budgets, expenses, and retail performance.
  • Maintain the highest standards of service, cleanliness, safety, and facility upkeep.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, financial, and operational policies.
  • Collaborate with hotel leaders to support overall resort operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in recreation, wellness, fitness, or hospitality operations.

  • CPR and First Aid Certification required.

  • Degree or diploma in Recreation, Hospitality, Business, Kinesiology, or a related field.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets, achieve revenue targets, and drive results.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Passion for wellness and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
