Health and Safety Officer

The company is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Organise safety training and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and prepare reports.
- Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), where necessary.
- Monitor fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and advise management on risk prevention and safety improvements.
Requirements

OND, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field.

Relevant professional certification in Health and Safety is an added advantage.

Previous experience in health and safety, preferably in construction, property management, or facilities management.

Good knowledge of workplace safety standards, risk assessment, and hazard prevention.

Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to conduct inspections, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.

Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.
