Summary
This role is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of occupational health and safety on site. The primary objective is to proactively manage risks through rigorous daily inspections, comprehensive training, and strict adherence to both local Nigerian and international safety protocols. By fostering a culture of safety awareness and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, this position plays a critical part in preventing incidents and safeguarding the well-being of all personnel.
Responsibilities

Execute comprehensive daily safety audits to detect and mitigate potential hazards, including those related to scaffolding, excavation, and working at heights.

Facilitate mandatory pre-shift safety briefings and toolbox talks to ensure all team members are informed and prepared.

Enforce strict protocols regarding the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as helmets, safety boots, high-visibility vests, and gloves.

Lead thorough investigations into any accidents or safety incidents, culminating in the preparation of detailed incident reports.

Develop and maintain essential safety documentation, including Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).

Oversee the management of HSE records, work permits, and the placement of safety signage throughout the facility.

Guarantee full compliance with all applicable Nigerian and international safety regulations.

Deliver targeted training sessions to new employees regarding established safety procedures and protocols.

Administer the first aid kit and coordinate emergency response procedures when necessary.
