About the Role Luther College seeks a dual-role professional to lead sport-specific performance coaching for athletics as Head Sports Performance Coach and assist in the daily operation of the Legends Fitness Center as Assistant Director of Legends Fitness. What You'll Do

  • Serve as a Sports Performance Coach for Luther College Athletics with sport assignments designated by the Director of Athletics; provide leadership and oversight for football performance programming while supporting other assigned sports
  • Design, implement, and evaluate sport-specific strength, conditioning, speed, agility, and injury prevention programs; align with head coaches' goals and student-athlete needs
  • Collaborate with athletic trainers and campus partners on injury prevention, rehabilitation, return-to-play, and overall well-being
  • Instruct on lifting techniques, movement patterns, recovery, nutrition, and performance enhancement; monitor data related to performance and program effectiveness
  • Assist in scheduling, facility utilization, and supervision of strength and conditioning activities; maintain professional development and adherence to NCAA/college policies
  • Support Legends Fitness operations: daily management, safety, scheduling, equipment maintenance, and student staff supervision
  • Work with campus partners and athletics staff to enhance the user experience in the Legends Fitness Center What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred in Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, Kinesiology, or related field
  • CSCS or equivalent certification; CPR/AED/First Aid
  • 1-3 years collegiate strength and conditioning experience; experience with multi-sport programs
  • Knowledge of sports performance technology and related software; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to foster inclusive relationships Nice to Have
  • Experience with NCAA Division III trends; comfort with data-drive decision making; program design across multiple sports Compensation & Benefits
  • Wage: $41,400-$46,000 per year
