Head, Portfolio Management
Location: Lagos (fully physical, with occasional weekend recovery drives)
If you have 5–8 years of experience in credit, collections, portfolio management or financial services operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role, this opportunity is worth looking at.
The role focuses on:
- Monitoring the quality and performance of the Group's loan portfolio
- Designing early warning systems to catch potential defaults before they occur
- Driving loan recovery and collections efficiency
- Negotiating workable repayment plans with delinquent customers
- Managing Portfolio-at-Risk (PAR), provisioning and the write-off process
- Leading and coaching a team of 5–10 portfolio and recovery officers
- Reporting on portfolio performance and supporting audits
Salary: Competitive basic salary, plus a performance bonus linked to PAR reduction and recovery targets, fuel, airtime and field transport allowance, HMO, pension and 13th-month salary.
A Bachelor's degree or HND in Banking & Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field is required. Certifications in banking (CIBN), risk management (FRM, CRM), credit administration or microfinance are an advantage.
We're looking for someone with strong integrity, sound analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to balance commercial discipline with customer dignity. Proficiency with loan management systems, collection platforms and data tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL) is expected, along with solid knowledge of CBN guidelines and consumer protection regulations.
