About this role
The Opportunity
At Accenture Song, we believe the future belongs to those who reinvent it.
We’re building a new-world media practice that brings together cutting-edge technology, deep strategic intelligence and media creativity to deliver meaningful growth for our clients. Strategy is central to that ambition.
We’re looking for a Head of Strategy to lead the strategic vision and capability of our media practice. You’ll shape industry-defining work, build new approaches to media planning and develop a team capable of helping ambitious brands navigate an increasingly complex landscape.
This is an opportunity for a progressive strategy leader who doesn’t accept the status quo and wants to influence what the next generation of media strategy looks like.
The Work
As Head of Strategy, you’ll:
- Set the strategic vision and standards for the media strategy and planning function.
- Lead ambitious strategic thinking that translates into distinctive, effective work in market.
- Partner with senior clients to understand their most important business, brand and marketing challenges.
- Build trusted executive relationships, becoming a strategic advisor beyond formal briefs and campaign cycles.
- Apply marketing-effectiveness principles to help clients make stronger investment decisions.
- Connect brand, media, culture, customer behaviour, data and technology into clear strategic narratives.
- Lead the development of integrated media strategies across major client accounts and new business opportunities.
- Create new tools, methods and planning approaches as the media practice continues to grow.
- Explore how applied AI can improve the quality, depth and speed of strategic thinking.
- Stay close to emerging platforms, formats, technologies and audience behaviours, applying sound judgement rather than following every trend.
- Build, coach and develop a high-performing strategy team.
- Raise the quality of strategic thinking across the broader agency through mentoring, collaboration and capability development.
- Work closely with creative, media, data, technology and consulting specialists across Accenture Song.
- Represent the practice through senior client engagement, industry participation and thought leadership.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be an established strategy leader with a record of producing outstanding work, building trusted client relationships and developing high-performing teams.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Extensive experience in media strategy, communications planning, brand strategy or a related strategic leadership role.
- A strong portfolio of strategic work that has reached the market and delivered meaningful impact.
- Deep knowledge of marketing effectiveness and the evidence underpinning how brands grow.
- Familiarity with measurement approaches such as econometric modelling, incrementality testing and attribution.
- Experience working with major brands in high-investment consumer categories such as financial services, telecommunications, retail, automotive or health.
- Strong relationships with senior client stakeholders who value your judgement and seek your advice.
- Experience leading and developing a strategy or planning function, rather than operating solely as a senior individual contributor.
- A clear and informed perspective on media, brands, culture, customer behaviour and the broader industry.
- The ability to turn complex information into compelling strategic stories and practical opportunities.
- A builder’s mindset, with experience creating new strategic tools, products, methods or capabilities.
- A progressive view of how AI can strengthen strategic thinking and ways of working.
- High standards, intellectual curiosity and a willingness to get into the detail to improve the work.
- A collaborative, low-ego leadership style.
