Job title: Head of Primary School / Primary School Coordinator
Description: Head of Primary School / Primary School Coordinator to provide strong academic, pastoral and operational leadership within its primary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting high-quality teaching and learning, leading and developing staff, strengthening parent relationships, maintaining high standards of pupil welfare and safeguarding, and contributing to continuous school improvement. This is an opportunity for an experienced education professional who can combine strong leadership, excellent organisation and a genuine passion for children with the ability to work effectively within a dynamic British/international school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and coordination across the Primary School.
- Lead and support teachers to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
- Monitor pupil attainment, progress and overall academic outcomes.
- Support school improvement initiatives and implementation of academic priorities.
- Lead, motivate and develop teaching and support staff.
- Contribute to staff recruitment, appraisal and professional development.
- Maintain strong safeguarding and child-protection practices.
- Build positive and professional relationships with parents and families.
- Support effective communication between leadership, staff, pupils and parents.
- Ensure strong organisational and administrative systems within the Primary School.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and collaborative school culture.
- Take initiative in identifying challenges, solving problems and following through on agreed actions.
- Contribute to the wider development and reputation of the school.
Ideal Candidate:
- 8+ years of teaching experience, including at least 3 years in senior primary leadership
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field
- Strong experience within a British/international primary curriculum environment
- A recognised teaching qualification; TRCN registration and relevant professional qualifications will be an advantage
- Demonstrable impact on pupil outcomes, attainment and progress
- Experience leading and managing a team of 15+ staff, including recruitment, appraisal and staff development
- Strong safeguarding, parent-management and school-improvement experience
- Strong communication, leadership and people-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Strong IT skills and proficiency with digital tools for teaching, communication and administration
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
- A calm, patient and understanding approach when working with children, colleagues and families
- The ability to take initiative, solve problems and follow through on responsibilities
- A genuine passion for children and a strong commitment to excellence in education
- An international mindset and appreciation of global perspectives and best practices in education
