About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Operations (Technical) to ensure projects are properly scoped, well documented, and delivered on time, while keeping the systems behind them—including hiring, processes, and tools—running smoothly. The successful candidate will coordinate the delivery team from day one, with direct reports to be added as the company grows. You do not need to write production code, but you must understand software and data projects well enough to write requirements, evaluate results, brainstorm, and review engineering deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client discovery by analysing business processes and problems and translating them into functional and technical requirements.
- Write requirements documents, process flows, specifications, and user stories that engineers can build from.
- Support project scoping, including effort estimates, statements of work, and assessment of change requests to ensure scope changes are controlled and appropriately priced.
- Own technical recruitment end-to-end, including defining role requirements, running the recruitment process, interviewing alongside the team, and closing hires.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working on technology projects, including at least 2 years in a delivery, systems analysis, business analysis, or technical project management role.
- Experience writing requirements documents, specifications, or user stories that engineering teams have built from.
- Direct experience managing clients or stakeholders on technical projects.
- Experience coordinating engineers, analysts, or other technical staff.
