Med-Vical International operates through three key divisions designed to provide integrated healthcare services and medical supply solutions. These divisions work together to ensure that patients, healthcare institutions, and partner organizations receive quality medical care, pharmaceutical services, and access to healthcare products.

Job Description

  • The Head of Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Pharmacy & Medical Supplies Division, overseeing procurement, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, supplier relationships and regulatory compliance.
  • The role will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, availability of quality pharmaceutical and medical supplies, and adherence to applicable healthcare and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for pharmacy and medical supplies operations.

  • Ensure efficient procurement, inventory control and timely availability of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.

  • Develop and implement operational policies, SOPs and best practices.

  • Monitor stock levels, consumption trends, expiries and supply chain performance.

  • Ensure compliance with NAFDAC, PCN and other relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiations and procurement processes.

  • Develop and manage operational budgets while driving cost efficiency.

  • Lead, coach and supervise pharmacy, stores and supply-chain personnel.

  • Establish controls to minimise stock losses, expiries, wastage and discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with clinical, finance, commercial and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Prepare periodic management reports on operational performance, risks and opportunities.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive continuous operational excellence.

  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.

  • 5–7 years relevant experience in pharmacy operations, medical supplies, healthcare supply chain or a related environment.

  • Minimum of 2–3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.

  • Pharmacist candidates must be registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, inventory management and healthcare supply-chain processes.

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, vendor management and stock control.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/ERP systems.

  • Professional certification in Supply Chain/Procurement (e.g. CIPS) is an added advantage.
