About Mighty
Join the world's leading online marketplace where small businesses save and grow. At Mighty, we
leverage the buying power of tens of thousands of small businesses to bring them BIG company
advantages that they love. Many large brands desire access to these hard-to-acquire customers
and offer special deals to them through Mighty.
Role Summary
Mighty is building a Membership business for small business owners. We have a strong Field distribution channel, a growing Marketplace of offers and benefits, and a big opportunity to build a brand and customer experience that gives members reasons to stay.
We need a hands-on Head of Marketing to make Mighty a brand small business owners understand, trust, use, and want to stay part of. This person will lead the work across brand, customer journey, website, content, search, reputation, community, and growth.
This is a startup-style role. We need someone who can help set the direction and also do the work to get the first version live. You should be comfortable moving without a large team, perfect data, or a finished playbook.
What The Role Will Own
- Marketing & Brand Strategy
- Define who Mighty is for, what we stand for, and why Membership is worth joining.
- Make Membership easy to understand and easy to explain.
- Keep the brand consistent across the website, Marketplace, email, social, Field materials, events, and customer communications.
- Customer Journey & Retention
- Build the customer journey from signup through renewal.
- Give members reasons to come back, use their benefits, and stay engaged with Mighty.
- Work with Product and Partnerships to identify which benefits create the most repeat value.
- Website & Conversion
- Own the messaging and conversion experience on the website.
- Partner closely with Product and UI/UX so the website, Marketplace, emails, and tools feel connected and consistent.
- Make it easy for a customer to understand what Mighty is, see the value, and want to join without needing a salesperson to explain it.
- Content, Social & Community
- Build a steady flow of useful, credible content across social, email, video, community, and events.
- Create a stronger sense of belonging so Membership feels like more than access to discounts.
- Build a reliable way to capture customer stories, proof points, and content from the Field and community.
- Search & Discovery (SEO / AEO / GEO)
- Help Mighty show up when businesses search for answers, services, and solutions online.
- Create content for traditional search, AI search, and other emerging discovery channels.
- Use search behavior to shape content, messaging, and customer education.
- Reputation & Trust
- Build a steady flow of positive proof across reviews, search results, customer stories, and online conversations.
- Strengthen the brand so isolated negative posts or reviews carry less weight.
- Work with Operations and Sales Quality to turn customer and Field feedback into better messaging and experiences.
- Growth & Experimentation
- Test new ways to grow across conversion, referrals, partnerships, audience growth, and other acquisition opportunities.
- Build non-Field acquisition channels over time while recognizing that the Field is our
- primary acquisition engine today.
- Build the foundation for paid acquisition once the product, customer journey, and economics are ready.
How This Role Will Work
- Be hands-on. Be willing to write copy, brief creative, build a campaign, review a landing page, analyze results, and fix what is not working.
- Move quickly. Ship, learn, improve, and do not over-engineer.
- Use AI and modern tools to get more done and help a lean team move faster.
- Know when to do the work yourself and when to bring in specialized help.
- Own the outcome even when agencies, freelancers, or other teams are involved.
- Work closely with Product, Technology, Partnerships, Field leadership, Operations, and the executive team.
What We Are Looking For
- A builder who has launched or grown Marketing programs from an early stage, not just managed an established team.
- Strong creative judgment across brand, messaging, and customer experience.
- Experience with customer engagement, retention, lifecycle Marketing, or membership/subscription businesses.
- Strong working knowledge of social, content, email, search, AI discovery, website conversion, analytics, and experimentation.
- Ability to make a complicated product easy to understand.
- Comfort moving quickly with limited resources and imperfect information.
- High ownership, urgency, curiosity, resourcefulness, and work ethic.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Comfort using data to make decisions without waiting for perfect information.
- Comfort managing agencies or freelancers without outsourcing ownership.
What Success Looks Like
- Customers and reps can quickly understand what Mighty is and why it matters.
- The website and Marketplace make the value clear and convert better.
- A customer journey is live from signup through renewal.
- More members use Mighty, come back, and renew.
- Mighty has a stronger and more resilient online reputation.
- Content, social, search, community, and customer communications work together.
- We know what is working, what is not, and where to invest next.
Team & Operating Model
This role will start lean. The Head of Marketing will inherit existing agency and vendor relationships
and help decide the right mix of internal talent, external partners, and technology. The goal is not to build a large department quickly. It is to add the right people and partners as the business needs them.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation for this role ranges from $175,000 to $200,000 base salary, plus a 15% to 20% target bonus. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and market considerations.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and additional employee perks and benefits.
This is a full-time, fully remote opportunity within the United States.
