About the Role The Global Role Category Lead Plant Supplies for Contitech CTBC is responsible for the worldwide strategic purchasing of plant and operational supplies, consumables and services essential for plant operations across all Contitech business areas. The role leads a team of Global Category Managers and Category Buyers and drives the implementation of the category strategy, delivering value through cost reduction, supplier performance, and ensured material availability. What You'll Do
- Lead and develop a global team of Category Managers/Buyers in line with Continental leadership principles, setting objectives, measuring progress and supporting staff.
- Act as interface to internal and external stakeholders (Engineering, Plants, Suppliers); translate business and purchasing strategy into concrete actions and train stakeholders to use the right tools and processes.
- Develop and sustain supplier strategy for the integrated category; manage data analytics, define KPIs and drive digital tools adoption to improve efficiency and transparency.
- Manage Supplier Relationship Management including market analysis, strategic supplier meetings, supplier evaluations, negotiations and adherence to Code of Conduct; drive value-creation and TCO initiatives.
- Lead Source-to-Contract activities including international negotiations, TCO analysis, make-or-buy decisions, value engineering, contract lifecycle management and compliant documentation.
- Manage projects relevant to the category and purchasing organization; contribute to sustainability integration in sourcing decisions and supplier performance.
- Collaborate with internal/external interfaces globally to ensure alignment and success of procurement activities. What We're Looking For
- Academic degree in economics, engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Several years of purchasing experience in an international environment; advanced project management experience; strong negotiation experience with global scope.
- Proficiency with MS Office 365 and relevant tools; knowledge of purchasing processes and data management.
- Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages (e.g., German, Spanish) beneficial. Nice to Have
