About the Role You will set the vision and quality bar for design across Telefónica's Chief Digital Office (CDO) product pipeline, and build a culture that attracts top design talent. You will bring design into strategic conversations early and design operations that scale to 40 designers, enabling high‑quality outcomes at pace. What You'll Do
- Set vision and standards across Product Design (UI/UX), Service Design, Creative, and Research.
- Build scalable design operations, workflows, and research ops that reduce bottlenecks and let designers focus on craft.
- Integrate design into strategic discussions with Finance, Legal, HR and other stakeholders.
- Develop career frameworks and coach senior designers into leadership roles.
- Foster a strong design community through portfolio reviews, rituals, and ongoing mentorship.
- Coach on modern practice including AI tools such as Figma AI, Claude, Uizard, etc., to augment creativity.
- Own design tools, prototyping platforms, and research ops to ensure scalable processes. What We're Looking For
- More than 12 years of design experience, with at least 5 years leading teams of 20+.
- Broad expertise across Product Design, Service Design, Research, and Design Ops; experience building scalable systems and workflows.
- Solid executive presence with excellent communication and storytelling, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity with distributed teams.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Experience across startups and corporate environments; background in telco, cyber/defense, or other regulated industries is highly valued.
- Proficiency with AI-powered design tools and comfort coaching teams in AI-enabled workflows. Nice to Have
- Experience leading design through organizational transformation or platforms/marketplaces.
- Additional language skills and international collaboration experience.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled design tools and staying current with evolving design tooling. Compensation & Benefits
