Head of Daycare

About the Role The Head of Daycare will lead our Nursery and Daycare provision, providing strategic, operational and professional leadership for the Federation's Daycare. Working in close partnership with the Head of EYFS, who provides strategic curriculum leadership across the Federation, the postholder will be responsible for the overall management, quality, sustainability and regulatory compliance of the setting. Together, the Head of Daycare and Head of EYFS will ensure that children experience a high-quality, inclusive and seamless Early Years journey across Low Road and Windmill Music Federation. What You'll Do

• Provide strategic, operational and professional leadership for the Federation's Daycare provision.
• Work in close partnership with the Head of EYFS to ensure strategic curriculum leadership and a high-quality Early Years journey.
• Manage the overall quality, sustainability and regulatory compliance of the setting.
• Lead a staff group, set long-term goals and clear plans; ensure staff understand their roles and responsibilities, monitor and evaluate progress.
• Demonstrate strong business and administrative skills, including budgeting, rotas, and marketing; prioritise and organise work under pressure.
• Prepare written reports and plans to the Governing Body, Senior Management Team and relevant inspection services.
• Collect and analyse data using a range of systems including ICT.
• Take responsibility for the quality of work, acknowledge mistakes, find solutions and learn from experience; demonstrate interpersonal skills, diplomacy and judgement.
• Understand the factors which create stress for children and families, promote responsive practice, and safeguard and meet welfare needs.
• Provide training opportunities for staff and pursue own professional development.
• Provide and disseminate excellent standards of professional early education and child care, linking policy and practice.
• Work in responsive partnership with parents and carers to meet the needs of all children and families.
• Initiate, manage and motivate staff through change and challenges. What We're Looking For
• Minimum 2 years in a managerial role in a nursery/daycare setting; professional employment in work with young children, families, and communities.
• Experience of child protection and safeguarding.
• Experience of leading teams/individual staff and of managing and leading in partnership with other agencies.
• Experience of preparing and presenting reports; experience of managing a budget.
• Experience of leading staff training and development; ability to provide training opportunities for staff and pursue own training needs.
• Ability to collect and analyse data using ICT and other systems; strong business and administrative skills; budget management.
• Ability to understand factors that create stress for children and families and promote safeguarding.
• Ability to work with partners and communicate effectively with parents and carers.
• Eligibility to work in the UK; enhanced DBS check. Nice to Have
• Experience of working in federation/multi-site settings.
• Experience of marketing and developing external partnerships.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and develop staff through professional development. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: £51,356 to £54,495 (pay award pending).
