Job description

Overview of the role

Lead the corporate finance, new business and credit control agenda for Automotive across UAE and overseas operations. You will safeguard liquidity, optimize working capital and evaluate strategic investments while maintaining robust credit governance. This role balances commercial growth with funding capacity, collectability and risk-adjusted returns.

What you will do

  • Lead liquidity planning, cash-flow forecasting and working-capital improvements across inventory, receivables and payables.

  • Partner with Treasury, Tax, FP&A and business teams on cash conversion, funding requirements and currency exposures.

  • Evaluate investments and capital expenditure through financial modelling, valuation, scenario analysis and post-investment reviews.

  • Develop business cases for new businesses, market entries, partnerships, joint ventures and acquisitions, supporting due diligence, transaction structuring and approvals.

  • Own credit-risk governance, including customer assessment, credit limits, payment terms, securities and exception management.

  • Improve receivables and collections performance through portfolio reviews, dispute resolution and recovery escalation.

  • Maintain effective policies, controls, approval standards and management reporting.

  • Lead and develop the team, driving digitalization, analytics and continuous improvement.

Skills

  • Required skills to be successful

  • Strong expertise in corporate finance, cash-flow forecasting, working-capital management and investment appraisal.

  • Advanced financial modelling, valuation and business-case development capabilities.

  • Sound knowledge of credit assessment, security structures, receivables analytics and collections governance.

  • Commercial judgement and the ability to translate complex analysis into clear executive recommendations.

  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation-support skills.

  • Collaborative leadership, constructive challenge, integrity and delivery discipline.

  • About the team

  • Reporting to the General Manager – Divisional Finance, you will lead a team with five direct reports within Automotive Finance, supporting UAE and overseas operations. You will work closely with the Automotive CFO, business leaders, FP&A, Group Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Internal Audit and shared services, alongside external advisers, lenders and partners where relevant.

  • What equips you for the role

  • Chartered Accountant, CPA, CFA, ACCA, MBA in Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification.

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant finance experience, including leadership responsibility in corporate finance, treasury-facing roles, investments, new business, credit risk or collections governance.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, business-case development, liquidity management, senior approvals and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Treasury exposure covering cash forecasting, currency exposures and funding requests to a group treasury function.

  • Experience owning or governing a customer credit framework, including risk appetite, limits, securities, delegated authority and portfolio reporting.

  • Working knowledge of IFRS, funding concepts, transaction evaluation and enterprise finance systems; advanced Excel and SAP experience preferred.

  • Experience in automotive, distribution, retail, financial services or another asset- and working-capital-intensive sector is advantageous.
