Head of Audit
Role Description
- The Head of Audit is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, responsible for leading the internal audit function and ensuring robust financial and operational controls across the station.
- This role oversees audit planning, execution, and reporting, including reviewing financial records, assessing risk, and evaluating internal control systems.
- The Head of Audit will design and implement audit methodologies, monitor compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable standards, and recommend improvements to processes and controls.
- Day-to-day tasks include supervising audit team members, coordinating with finance and accounting teams, preparing clear audit reports, and presenting findings and action plans to senior management.
- The role also involves supporting strategic decision-making by providing insights on risk management, efficiency, and governance.
Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 8 - 10 Years of experience
- NYSC
- Strong auditing and internal controls skills, with experience designing, implementing, and reviewing audit frameworks.
- Solid finance and accounting skills, including an understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make sound recommendations.
- Proven experience in an audit leadership role, preferably within media, broadcasting, or a similar dynamic industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and a high level of integrity and ethical judgment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and to mentor, coach, and develop audit staff.
