Job role

• Lead and manage the Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) team, including I&C Engineers and technicians and support staff in technical issues airs.

• Develop and implement training programs to enhance the engineers and technical skills and expertise of team members in control systems and instrumentation.

• Ability to work on-site in a LNG plant, performing hands-on tasks in the field solely or with the GVLNG team ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and safely.

• Plan, prioritize, and oversee the maintenance of process automation systems to optimize LNG production, ensuring the reliable operation of Mixed Refrigerant Compressors, Regen Gas compressors, BOG compressors, Heating Medium heaters, all control valves and transmitters.

• Foster a safe work environment by promoting adherence to safety protocols and addressing unsafe practices or conditions.

• Cultivate strong communication and relationships across all teams,

• Oversee maintenance activities related to process control, and automation systems, including installation commissioning and start-up, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and calibration, ensuring thorough documentation and peak system performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with Operations on routine instrumentation tasks as well as special projects.

• Supervise troubleshooting and maintenance of distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC), Allen Bradley, Rockwell ControlLogix, and ability to troubleshoot and evaluate plant performance issues using Grafana and AVEVA,

• Provide oversight and support for workstation computer and related equipment maintenance.

• Ensure that all responsibilities are executed in accordance with GVLNG established expectations.

• Contribute to the annual budgeting process for maintenance-related parts and materials.

• Schedule and manage preventive/ corrective maintenance and calibration of various field instrumentation like, Transmitters (PT/TT/LT/FT), metering system, Loading system, control valves, ESD valves, SCADA and Automation systems and Fire and Gas detectors, Gas Chromatographs and Analysers.

• Commissioning of instrument systems by carrying out hot and cold loop checks for all greenfield, brownfield, expansion projects.

• Performance of functional testing on Process, Fire & Gas and ESD systems, instruments, Fire & Gas Detectors, All types of Analyzers, Gas Chromatography and other all instruments.

• Prepares all reference standards to be used in performing calibration as well as all necessary documents before and after calibration.

• Identify and report necessary spare parts for efficient plant operation and improvement initiatives to Area

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to the I&C team, ensuring continuous development and expertise.

• Uphold plant policies and procedures, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.

• Review/ develop missing procedure according to LNG industry best practices and standards

• Take on additional responsibilities as required and mutually agreed upon with GVLNG management team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Instrumentation & Control Engineering

• 15-20 years of experience, including time spent in supervisory or leadership roles, with a strong understanding of the technical aspects of instrumentation, control systems, and team management.

• Extensive experience in managing instrumentation and controls operations, ideally within LNG industry.

• A high level of proficiency in personal computers and related software applications is required. Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, is essential.

• Deep knowledge of industry process control and automation systems, including DCS, SCADA and PLC systems, , GE Process PLC Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware, ArchestrA, LNG/ LPG Loadout system,

• Proficiency in SIL-3 rated ESD, Fire & Gas system,

• Mark VIE Tanker Truck Instruments, ESD valves, Batch Controllers, HMI

• Expertise in industrial networking and communication protocols, such as Modbus,

• Comprehensive understanding of VFDs, PID controllers, temperature and pressure transmitters, flow meters, proximity probes, and position sensors.

• Strong communication skills with well-developed interpersonal and visible leadership capability;

• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
