HCL Commerce Developer

About this position

Our client is seeking an experienced HCL Commerce Developer with strong Java development, enterprise integration, and e-commerce platform expertise to support customer-facing portal solutions. You will develop and enhance commerce functionality, build backend services and APIs, and support integrations across enterprise systems. Your work will directly contribute to reliable platform performance, secure data exchange, and the successful delivery of customer portal enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain custom solutions and portal enhancements within the HCL Commerce platform, including Management Center (CMC) functionality when required.
• Build and maintain Java-based backend services, business logic, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Implement and troubleshoot integrations between HCL Commerce and enterprise applications, including authentication, authorization, data synchronization, and API payload mapping.
• Design and optimize database components, SQL queries, stored procedures, and data-access solutions using DB2 or equivalent relational databases.
• Develop responsive customer-facing interfaces using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, code reviews, testing, defect resolution, and production support within the agreed assignment scope.
• Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, configuration notes, and knowledge-transfer materials while communicating project progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on HCL Commerce development experience.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs and JSON-based services.
• Experience with the Spring Framework, WebSphere Application Server, and enterprise application development.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, SQL development, and DB2 or an equivalent database platform.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise integrations, with a strong understanding of authentication and authorization concepts.
• Experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and Agile delivery methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React and modern front-end development technologies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and JWT authentication.
• Experience with customer portals, digital commerce platforms, or legacy enterprise application modernization.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Azure API Management, enterprise messaging, or customer identity and access management solutions.
• Experience customizing HCL Commerce Management Center (CMC).
