About the Role Join The Lawson Group as a Hazardous Materials Consultant responsible for helping clients safely store, handle, transport, and dispose of hazardous materials while staying compliant with OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements. Based in New Hampshire, you’ll deliver practical, evidence-based guidance and hands-on program development to protect workers and the environment across New England.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct assessments of chemical storage areas for labeling, storage, ventilation, segregation, and spill protection in line with OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Guide hazardous waste disposal: identify, label, store, and arrange transport to approved facilities, ensuring compliance and reducing risk of fines.
  • Assist with packaging, labeling, and documentation for shipping hazardous materials to meet DOT requirements.
  • Design and implement spill containment strategies and hazmat emergency plans tailored to each site, including evacuation routes and coordination with local responders.
  • Provide training and ongoing hazmat program support, helping clients stay compliant and prepared.
  • Stay current with state and federal hazmat regulations and translate complex rules into practical actions.

What We're Looking For

  • Certified safety and industrial hygiene professionals with hands-on hazmat management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements; ability to implement compliant programs.
  • Ability to assess NH and New England regulatory landscapes and tailor guidance to client operations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-focused consulting mindset.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently; willingness to travel as needed.

Nice to Have

  • HAZWOPER training or certification.
  • Experience with hazardous waste disposal or coordinating with disposal facilities.
  • Independent, people-first consulting experience and local knowledge of New Hampshire and New England regulations.
