Job title: Hardware & Silicon Validation Senior Staff Engineer
About the Role Marvell is seeking a Hardware Validation/Applications Engineer at the Senior Staff level with experience in Solid State Drives (SSD). The role focuses on post-silicon validation, firmware validation for storage SoCs, and cross-functional collaboration to bring robust SSD solutions to mass production.
What You'll Do
- Design and execute post-silicon validation tests for SSD Chipsets during the R&D cycle.
- Develop, port and execute bare-metal firmware to validate storage SoCs.
- Perform Pre- and Post-silicon testing of SoC functionality, including NAND bring-up and functions validation.
- Review, create, and maintain test plans, test procedures and test results documentation.
- Develop validation tools, test frameworks, and benchmarking applications.
- Analyze test results and generate professional validation reports.
- Provide technical support to Field Application Engineers supporting customer engagements.
- Collaborate with Test Engineers to support test development for mass production.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant professional experience; or Master's/Ph.D. degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in C/C++, ARM assembly, and 32/64-bit ARM CPU architecture.
- Experience in firmware development under bare-metal and/or Linux Environment, including debugging on SoCs for embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, etc.
- Prior experience with SSD controllers, NAND PHY bring‑up, or system‑level SSD validation is highly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Flexible, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and drive them to completion.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with advanced NAND technologies including LTT and SCA is a significant advantage.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD 127,630 - 191,200 per year. The starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The range may be modified based on market conditions.
