Hardware Product Manager

About the Role Hardware Product Manager at Formlabs is responsible for defining new hardware products and leading them through development to market. You will be the voice of the customer, a subject matter expert on users, applications, and business, and will drive product strategy that delivers customer value and business impact.

What You'll Do

• Identify immediate and upcoming user needs and develop product requirements and a roadmap to address them.
• Prioritize features and tasks, track product direction, and regularly review current work.
• Write clear, detailed product specifications.
• Manage collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure teams have what they need.
• Guide go-to-market and maintenance plans through product launch and beyond.
• Monitor feedback, support, and analytics; plan changes to improve.
• Develop a deep understanding of customers, business, competitors, and technology.
• Work with product and engineering leadership to create a coherent strategy for your product lines and connect it to the wider business strategy.
• Identify new adjacent opportunities and propose products to capture them.
• Serve as the voice of the customer to develop and launch products that delight users and support business goals.

What We're Looking For

• Hardware engineering or physics background.
• Experience shipping software-enabled hardware products to customers (or provide justification if not applicable).
• Experience as a product founder or leading products in a startup environment.
• Data-driven decision making.
• Clear communicator, both written and oral.
• Process-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have

• Mechanical or electrical engineering degree.
• MBA or experience in a consulting role.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, regulatory, or product standards and compliance in industries like healthcare, pharma, or life sciences.
• Experience with 3D printing technologies and materials.
